Kew Caryota update

Posted: 9 Mar 2008

As an update I managed a quick trip to Kew this week, haven't been for a few months.

Took some pictures of the Caryota that is just starting to get under steam in terms of flowering with a sizeable bunch of flowers forming now at the crown. Should be a stunning sight as the year goes on.

The foliage is quite something too...massive leaves!

It was also nice to see some more outdoor palm plantings being made including Brahea armata, Phoenix canariensis and a nice cerifera form of Chamaerops humilis.
