Not known in cultivation. Butia matogrossensis is to be found in Mato Grosso do Sul State in Brazil and was first described in 2010. a dwarf member of the genus it has blue/green leaves. Petioles with fibrous sharp teeth. Leaves spirally arranged. Peduncolar bract glaucous. Female flowers are small.
